Founded in 1996, the Alexandra Education Committee (AEC) is a Johannesburg NGO providing secondary school bursaries to academically promising children from Alexandra township. Through bursaries, Saturday school, holiday programmes, counselling and mentorship, the AEC has achieved close to 100% matric pass rates since inception. It also runs teacher development workshops in mathematics and English for Alexandra primary schools.
