The Courage Child Protection Directory is a centralised resource designed to connect children, families, caregivers, educators, healthcare professionals, social workers, and communities with trusted organisations providing essential child-focused services across South Africa. The directory helps improve access to support, strengthens referral pathways, and promotes collaboration between NGOs, healthcare providers, community organisations, and statutory child protection services.
Who to call right now
If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 10111. All numbers below are free or low-cost and most operate 24 hours a day.
The GBV command centre also accepts a free “please call me” on *120*7867#. Child abuse can be reported to the SAPS FCS unit at childprotect@saps.gov.za.
